#Justice, what is it and how does one get it?

Justice, what is it and how does one get it? Is it when the family of the perpetrator visits the family of the victim and gives them an “offering” towards the burial arrangements?    You see the culture within Africans determines that the family of the perpetrator claims responsibility on behalf of their child, in this case; by way of admission of guilt for the crime committed; and pays the full cost of the burial.    Ask anyone about the kind of funeral Africans organise –it is elaborate and expensive.    Except for my family, ooTshezi were lenient and accepted whatever ooJola could afford – a fraction of the full cost.    Now is that justice? Is it praying for karma?   Wishing that the perpetrator would die the very same way he killed the victim.   Would that be justice?   Is it when the perpetrator is arrested, prosecuted and convicted?   The former two transpired, but the case was struck off the r...

5 #Fibromyalgia symptoms spelt out for the layman

Image
Fibromyalgia fighters have all the ailments listed in this blog: 5-thing-you-must-know-about-fibromyalgia and so much more. Over and above that, they have them on another level! We call these higher grade aliments “ flares ”. Imagine the following: 1. Headaches The eyes feel like they will pop out of the socket, and the forehead like it is being skinned with no anaesthesia. When you lift your head from the pillow, it feels like you are leaving a part of it on the pillow still. Dizzy spells are common, especially after getting up from sitting, squatting or bending. 2. Fatigue The body feels like you are wearing a bodysuit that weighs 50kg or 110lbs. Walking is so difficult that you have to use the walls to help balance yourself. More often than not, this bodysuit appears out of nowhere at the most inopportune times — even when you’re sleeping. It harms breathing and body balance. 3. Insomnia If one can sleep at all, one must consider themselves lucky! A bed at time...

Rules of living ...

Anything and everything comes with a set of guidelines on how to use it. Whatever you buy will come with a manual on how to put it together for effective use. We can't buy a Sony and find a manual of a Phillips.  Living has it's own set of rules, depending on which doctrine you partake in. Other doctrines are written and others are taught culturally. Some take a bit (not everything) of the written and a bit of the taught or instilled in them. A dab here and a dab there. Personally, there are things hat I was taught that would never ever practise in my adult life nor teach my children. I choose to follow the doctrine of the Holy Bible.  He is my maker and it makes sense that I go near to him so that he can come near to me.  Ecclesiastes teaches that there is a time for everything under the sun. A time to mourn! It takes us by surprise and ravages our hearts into shreds. I'm still mourning the passing of my brother 6 months ago. He took a bullet to the head. I wonder how lo...

Live

Living   I am living. You are living. We are living though we take a whole lot for granted. The invisible air that we breathe.  The honour of seeing new sights every time we blink.  We understand invisible sounds from others' words or sign language.  Movement, the magic of telling your brain you want to raise your arm or hold a fist. My only brother is not living.  As of 18 May 2019, my brother ceased to live.  Nothing of his is moving, all because of a piece of metal that was pressed against his head and a trigger was pulled.  Assassination? Taken out?  Murdered? He left us confused!  He was the one who was to take care of the family home.
